During these unprecedented times, its been reassuring to settle into a busy summer maintenance routine. While the work here at Eagle Brook is never truly routine - each morning brings new surprises - the steady beat of a full tee sheet and a seasoned crew has had the maintenance department hitting the right steps all season long. As the calendar flips to September, we're witnessing what has been a rare sight this summer, a rain shower! While it is very welcome, it will make but a small dent in our current drought conditions. The Chicago region is experiencing its hottest summer season on record with an average temperature of 77.7 F and the lowest amount of precipitation from July thru August since 1944 with just over 3" of rainfall. Irrigation pumps don't fail us now!
Along with some needed rain, September also brings two highly anticipated club tournaments and an important annual turf maintenance practice; the Club Championship, Member-Guest, and fairway aerification beginning the week of September 21.
The maintenance crew would like to extend a very sincere thanks to the wonderful Eagle Brook members who contributed their time and energy to the most successful divot night to date. With over 70 participants on the evening of August 17, we were able to cover every hole, tee to green, with teams of volunteers filling divots. A special thanks to Mr. Henkelman and his assembled team of Eagle Brook member volunteers who have since returned for a divot morning this past Monday. The work performed by these volunteer greens keepers is greatly appreciated by the maintenance team here at Eagle Brook.

Finally, with member tournament season underway, the EBCC turf team would like to congratulate the team of Henkelman and Murphy on capturing the 2020 Member Member trophy. Well done, gentlemen!
