We've been busy this winter. In addition to cleaning and servicing equipment, refreshing tee and green amenities, and general property maintenance, i.e. snow removal, the daily job board has featured a full slate of tree trimming and removal. A major area of focus has been the rogueing out of "small" trees and shrubs from the pond and creek banks on holes 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11. The removal of these plants will improve the aesthetic quality of the course landscape and open up sight lines for play.

The cleanup and removal of undesired tree growth will extend the entirety of the waterway emanating from #7 pond and terminating prior to the native area near #1 tee.
The limbing and removal of dead and unwanted tree growth has extended beyond the creek banks with the removal of several dead trees near the property line behind #11 green and the removal of a long suffering pines from a clusters on the hill separating #5 green and #6 tee. The removal of these trees and the clearing of undergrowth from the remaining cluster will greatly improve both the visual quality of these areas, turf health and ease of maintenance.

As mentioned above, additional tree work has been done on an isthmus just beyond #6 tee that also contained a cluster of struggling pines that needed partial removal and limbing up.

The tree work will continue, weather permitting, thru the winter months with additional trees slated for removal on #9 and #13. As usual, all of our efforts will be closely monitored by our department mascot and chief squirrel chaser, Alex.
