Wishing Everyone a Happy 2020 from the Eagle Brook Country Club Turf Center
December to Remember - The season of gift giving was generous to golfers and turf maintenance efforts alike. With nearly 20 days of highs above 40 degrees and little snow cover there was a considerable amount of activity out on the course. We saw a steady stream of play throughout the month while also being able to catch up on some needed course maintenance tasks, which included closing the back 9 holes December 1, topdressing all putting surfaces, and getting a big jump on our tree work.

Tree Time - It's the time of year when golf courses fill some of their days with tree work and Eagle Brook is no exception. From raising up and thinning out canopies to complete removal of dead trees the EBCC maintenance staff will be busy with chainsaws in hand. Work has commenced on a number of holes, most notably with some trimming on a stand of trees near #1 green, a mix of tree species around #2 tee, and behind #6 green. Tree removal has begun in the transition area between #8 green and #9 tee, #11 green, and #18 left side rough with more slated for removal throughout the course. Weather permitting, our goal is to have most of the tree work completed by the end of March. If you see us out doing tree work please feel free to stop by and chat but if you hear us yell TIMBER look out.
Winter Play - With a continued mild winter we anticipate and encourage winter play. We ask that all players carry with them a sand bottle for fairway divot repair and look for the extra bottles and containers placed at each tee station for tee divot repairs. We expect all winter season players to act as maintenance stewards, including ball marks putting surfaces and filling divots. |
