GOLF SEASON IS COMING!
The above picture is far from a golf pic but it does show the Fox River, once again, flowing thru Geneva. We survived another polar vortex (at -50 F our area was the coldest spot on the planet, thank you) so we can survive anything, including another month and a half before the official start of golf season. Hang in there!
In between what seems like daily snow removal, the Eagle Brook Turf Center staff has been busy this winter refurbishing course amenities, making some needed repairs to the shop, and getting out on the course when possible to check on facilities and remove winter debris. It won't be long before we're back on the turf in earnest, preparing the playing surfaces for the first golf of 2019.
In addition to winter maintenance inside and out on the course, Craig and Frank attended the 2019 Golf Industry Show in San Diego. The GIS is a great way to connect with other golf industry professionals, discover new innovations in the industry to bring back to Eagle Brook, and ultimately elevate the playing experience here at Eagle Brook. Speaking of innovation, check out the GPS controlled greens mower pictured below. I guess superintendents can sleep in comfortably knowing that this unit is on the job. Right?
Who is Frank?
Eagle Brook has a new assistant superintendent on staff. Please join us in welcoming Frank Klaus back to the team. Frank joined the Eagle Brook staff in late 2017 but spent the majority of the 2018 golf season heading up course maintenance operations at Mill Creek. Excited to be back, Frank looks forward to meeting the golf members and contributing to the level of excellence maintained at Eagle Brook Country Club.
Sincerely,
Craig, Maintenance Staff
